Andrew Janower
Managing Director
AJ joined Harvard Private Capital Group, the predecessor to Charlesbank, in 1996. He was appointed a managing director of Charlesbank in 2002. AJ's previous experience includes working as a research associate in entrepreneurial finance at the Harvard Business School and as a consultant at Bain & Company, where he focused on industrial and consumer products, business services and distribution.
AJ serves on the boards of Blacksmith Brands, GSI, Sagittarius Brands and WorldStrides. He earned a BS in economics, magna cum laude, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard University with Baker Scholar honors. He is also a CPA.
AJ lives with his wife and family in his hometown of Newton, MA. He is an avid Boston sports fan and skier. AJ is also a co-founder of FightPLGA, a 501c3 public charity with a focus on raising money for pediatric brain tumor research.
