Bastian joined Charlesbank in 2004 from McKinsey & Company, where he was a business analyst focusing on the financial services and healthcare industries. He also spent a year as an associate at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. in London, working on transactions in the technology and media sectors.
Bastian received his BS in molecular biophysics and biochemistry, summa cum laude, from Yale University.
Born and raised in Germany, Bastian now lives in New York City's West Village. He enjoys cycling, basketball, rowing, skiing and traveling.
