Founded in 2000, MDVIP (or the “Company”) is the largest provider of membership-based healthcare, or concierge medicine, in the United States. The Company manages a network of approximately 1,100 primary care physicians serving 362,000 patient members across 44 states. MDVIP provides highly personalized preventative care, including comprehensive annual health screening, same-day appointments and 24/7 access to physicians – a differentiated delivery model that drives demonstrated improvements in health outcomes. MDVIP physicians benefit from enhanced compensation and earnings stability, smaller practices, greater job satisfaction, and administrative and strategic support.
Charlesbank Investment
In October 2021, Charlesbank partnered with the Private Equity business of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“Goldman Sachs”) to acquire shared control of MDVIP. We have a strong existing relationship with the Goldman Sachs healthcare investment team stemming from our 2019 joint investment in MyEyeDr. With Goldman Sachs, we will have equal ownership and shared governance of the Company, along with a common vision for value creation and the strategic direction of this unique business.
