Gene heads the research effort in the Credit Opportunities strategy.
Gene joined Charlesbank in April 2024 from Columbus Hill Capital Management, where he was Director of Research and Partner focused on credit special situations for 13 years. Previously, he was an Executive Director in the Fundamental Investments Group at UBS. Earlier in his career, he worked at Satellite Asset Management in Distressed Credit and Trust Company of the West in the Special Situations Credit division. He began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Salomon Smith Barney.

Gene and his wife live in Weehawken, NJ, and have two grown children. In his free time, he enjoys golf, traveling, reading and comedy.
