Marcy L. Shinder

Advisory Director

Marcy was engaged as an advisory director at Charlesbank in 2020 to partner with portfolio company CEOs to drive organic growth, culture and digital transformation. She joined from WeWork, where she served as chief growth marketing officer and global head of partnerships. She is an experienced marketing leader with expertise driving brand & digital transformation and revenue growth across industries, including financial services, technology, travel, media, retail and real estate. Prior to WeWork, she served as chief marketing & communications officer at WorkMarket and global chief marketing officer of Nielsen. She also held various executive roles during her 17 years at American Express, including head of marketing and general manager of divisions including OPEN Small Business and Global Business Travel.

Marcy serves on the board of CarMax (NYSE: KMX) and on the Advisory Council of Betterment and Teal. She is also a founding member of Brilliant Friends Investing (a unique network dedicated to providing capital and advice to women-led businesses) and is a guest lecturer at Princeton’s Keller Center for Entrepreneurship. Marcy lives in the greater NYC area with her family, and she is an avid black diamond skier and international traveler.
