Steve is an Advisory Director for the Technology Opportunities team.
Steve has advised Charlesbank’s Technology Opportunities strategy since 2021 and was engaged as an Advisory Director in 2025. He is an entrepreneur and manager with 25+ years’ experience starting and scaling software and technology companies of all stages across a variety of industries and business models. Steve was the founding CEO of three companies – Thematic (an AI-powered investment intelligence platform, acquired by Stocktwits), Endorse.com (a mobile advertising platform acquired by Dropbox) and Cake Financial (a consumer finance firm acquired by E*Trade). Steve served as the turnaround CEO of Accel-backed Grovo, a leading L&D SaaS platform, which was acquired by Cornerstone OnDemand within 18 months.

Official empty nesters of two adult children, Steve and his wife now split their time between San Francisco and Boston. Steve draws lessons from various creative industries (sports, music, television and film) in order to make technology companies, products and teams more successful.
